From the Shulchan Aruch (125:1) and the Mishneh Berura there as well, it seems that it is very preferable for the tzibbur to NOT say “nekadesh”(or na’a’ritzach’), but rather to listen to the sh’li’ach tzibbur and then say “kadosh…”. The Mishneh Berura concludes that common custom is to say it; the Aruch HaShulchan gives a possible rationale (a rationale is needed since the words indicate as the Shulchan Aruch rules). It is also common to indeed NOT say the words introducing the other parts of kedusha (l’umassam ; u’bdivrei…)
